About Robert Wilson
My Story

Robert Wilson grew up in the sunny climes of Jamaica, where he completed his education with the encouragement and support of his close-knit family network.
After school, a decade-long career in telecommunications saw him travel the Caribbean – living in the Turks and Caicos Islands, the Cayman Islands, and his hometown of Kingston.
His many and varied skills saw him take on roles that included general manager, project manager, consumer sales manager, customer services manager and channel sales manager for some of the largest telecommunications providers in the region.
Having responsibility for managing cash flow, people and property in some of the region’s biggest companies gave Rob invaluable insight which he carries forward to the present day.
In 2018 Rob was looking for a new challenge that would allow him to spend more time with his two young children, and came across Cayman-based domain brokerage Uniregistry.
He joined the company as a broker to learn the industry and was astonished to find that domains “routinely sell for hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars”.
During his two-year tenure, he negotiated the acquisition and sale of over 200 domain names.
Challenges
In early 2020 after moving to the UK, he joined saw.com as a domain name consultant and undertook domain brokerage, appraisal, and portfolio management services.
With extensive skills in hand and wishing to establish a stronger personal relationship with his customers, in 2022, Rob set up his own domain name brokerage named Doctor Bird.
He’s excited to connect his customers with their preferred domain name and support them in achieving their business goals through easy access, clear branding and consistency.
Rob will follow, what he calls “digital breadcrumbs” to find domain name owners and their up-to-date contact details before carrying out fair negotiations for all.
